Stockdale Fencing FAQS
Do I get a full written quote? How long is it valid for?
Yes. Upon a site visit from one of our team, you will receive a full written quote via email or posted out to you if you would prefer.
The quotes are valid for 30 days. In instances where you require more than 30 days to confirm a quote, a re-price may be required due to an increase in material costs.
Do you carry out a risk assessment before starting?
Yes.
Each site we visit requires a specific site risk assessment and method statement which is clearly explained to all of our staff and customers.
Copies of our risk assessments are available to view if you so choose.
Are your staff trained?
All our staff and trained in the use of machinery and first aid.
We use a mixture of in-house training alongside nationally recognised training certificates such as NPORS and CPCS for our Tracked post knockers, tractors, and excavators. We use the NPTC for the use of chainsaws.
We also use the CSCS scheme to ensure all our workforce have received the appropriate training and qualifications to work on construction sites.
All our staff are trained in first aid and are required to attend refresher courses on a biennial basis.
Will you remove my old fence?
Yes, we can remove and dispose of old fencing before we begin installing your new fence.
Who is responsible for clean up?
Us!

Do I need to provide anything while your workforce is on-site?
No. Our workforce will be fully self-sufficient while on site.
Can you work in wet conditions?
Yes, we can!
Our fleet of machinery consists of low ground impact machinery. We have tracked post knockers and tractors to help us fence on significantly wet ground without getting stuck or making a mess. We have successfully fenced across all types of ground conditions including a wetland marsh!

We only use Hazard Class 4 timber. This is tanalised timber suitable for outdoor use and we only source our timber from reputable suppliers where timber can be traced back should you ever have any issues.

All the materials we use are built to last. All of our timber is pressure treated to a minimum standard of HC4. This can provide a service life of 10 Years.

Upon acceptance of your quote, we ask for a 50% deposit, this allows us to order the required materials and secure your place in our diary. The remaining balance is due 30 days after the completion of the works.
How do I pay you?
You will receive an invoice on completion of the work, the balance is due within 30 days of the invoice date. We accept BACS and cheques.
What areas do you cover?
We work all over the UK.
Our portfolio of work spans from Norfolk to Anglesey to the Scottish borders!
Do you check for water and gas pipes?
We ask our customers to let us know where any cables, services, and drains are located. Stockdale Fencing takes no responsibility for the identification of cables, services, and drains. These services must be clearly marked and discussed before starting the work. We recommend using ‘Linesearch Before U Dig’ (https://lsbud.co.uk/) to check for cables, services, and drains before work begins.
What if I am not happy with the service you have provided?
We work extremely hard to provide our customers with a service that is second to none, however, if you are not happy with our work, we ask that you call us to discuss, and we are sure that any issues can be resolved quickly. We are always at the end of the phone for any aftercare services and a vast majority of customers use us again and again.
If you require any references for work, we have quoted, we are always happy to provide these for you.
